A Tribute to Toni Morrison

When grief is compounded, one goes to the masters -those who have suffered and overcome- in search of a spiritual balm. My serendipitous ‘encounter’ with Toni Morrison in February 2020 brought solace to my personal grief. Her words. How easy to read, how difficult to write, how arduous to understand them. An enormous respect for the Writer who travelling to the depths of the human soul -digging for pain and for joy- comes afloat with treasures for us to open. She is not asking for anything in return. A homage to the power of her Word, so little to offer in exchange for the gift to provoke these magical evocations.
